The company, by participating in the FAEQ\u2019s sponsorship program, is proud to sponsor four student-athletes who are aiming to qualify for the Tokyo Olympic Games this summer and the Beijing Olympic Games next winter, by granting each of them an individual scholarship of $4,000 $.<br \/>\nMTY Group is one of the largest franchisors in the restaurant industry in Canada, owning several very popular banners in Quebec such as Allo! She had also won the continental crown in 2019.<br \/>\nSilver medalist at the Tel Aviv Grand Prix and 5th at the Paris and Budapest Grand Prix events in 2020.<br \/>\nStudying for a Bachelor of Accounting Sciences at the Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al and maintained an academic average of 3.54 out of 4.30 (82 %) in the Certificate in Accounting Sciences.<br \/>\nCatherine executes excellent groundwork techniques and shows great determination in achieving her goals. She aims to improve her attack angles to surprise and project her opponents. Ninth in the international Olympic rankings for the Tokyo Games, she wants to be among the top eight by the end of the qualification process. After earning her high school diploma, the judoka wishes to pursue her studies with the goal of becoming a certified public accountant (CPA).<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Cendrine Browne \/ cross-country skiing \/ 5th FAEQ scholarship<\/strong><\/div>\n<p><strong>27 years old - Pr\u00e9vost<br \/>\nSupport for academic and athletic success 4000 $<\/strong><br \/>\nAchieved her best result in an individual World Cup event by finishing 23rd in the 10-kilometer freestyle in Falun, Sweden, in January 2021.<br \/>\n33rd overall in the Cross-Country Skiing Tour de Ski, which included six World Cups in eight days, in February 2020.<br \/>\nStudied for a Bachelor's degree in Sports Intervention and a certificate in Public Communication at Universit\u00e9 Laval.<br \/>\nCendrine displays excellent technique and quickly applies her coach's recommendations. She is perfecting her mental preparation to worry less about details and achieve a certain level of letting go. She aims to qualify for the 2022 Olympic Games with the goal of ending her career in peak form after overcoming several obstacles, including two concussions. The cross-country skier would like to work for an organization related to sports, where she could share her extensive experience in sporting events.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Katherine Surin \/ Athletics \/ 1st FAEQ Scholarship<\/strong><\/div>\n<p><strong>25 years old - Laval<br \/>\nSupport for academic and athletic success 4000 $<\/strong><br \/>\nBronze medalist in the 400m event at the ACNW (Athletics Central North West) Championships in Potchefstroom, South Africa, in March 2020.<br \/>\nBronze medalist in the 400m at the Canadian Championships in July 2019 with a personal best of 52.43 seconds.<br \/>\nStudying for a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Strategic Project Management at Universit\u00e9 Laval.<br \/>\nKatherine can rely on long strides that allow her to cover more distance quickly, a significant advantage in the 400m. She is fine-tuning her mental preparation to be less hard on herself and to put less pressure on herself. She wants to participate in the Tokyo Olympics this summer, both in the 4x400m relay and the 400m, and then qualify for the finals in Paris in 2024. The runner wants to work in real estate, specifically in affordable housing development. She plans to obtain a license from the R\u00e9gie du b\u00e2timent du Qu\u00e9bec (RBQ) and structure her own projects.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Nicolas Guy Turbide \/ Para-swimming (S13) \/ 5th FAEQ Scholarship<\/strong><\/div>\n<p><strong>24 years old \u2013 Quebec (Sainte-Foy\u2013Sillery\u2013Cap-Rouge)<br \/>\nAcademic Excellence 4000 $<\/strong><br \/>\nChosen swimmer of the year by the Quebec Swimming Federation in the fall of 2019.<br \/>\nSilver medalist in the 100m backstroke at the World Championships, where he also broke two Canadian records in September 2019.<br \/>\nStudied for a bachelor's degree in financial planning at Universit\u00e9 Laval and maintained a GPA of 96 % in the fall 2020 semester.<br \/>\nNicolas Guy spares no effort, both in competitions and training. He is very professional in his preparation. He focuses in training on displaying more consistency in his turns and his wall approaches. He wants to improve his personal best in the 100m backstroke and reach the podium at the Tokyo Paralympic Games.
