These individuals, aged between 12 and 14 at the time of selection, not only excel in the classroom and in their respective sports but also cultivate a passion for an artistic discipline.

In these times of confinement and global pandemic, our young people need encouragement and positive reinforcement to stay motivated for the upcoming sports season and the achievement of their future goals. Therefore, during a virtual scholarship award ceremony live on Instagram, the LDT Foundation revealed the recipients, who in turn were able to interact with co-presidents Laurent and Florence.

A medical doctor and winner of the last Super Bowl, Laurent has long combined his football and badminton practices with learning the violin. Florence, who is now a contemporary art curator, trained in sports-studies throughout her primary and secondary education and then at CEGEP with the École supérieure de ballet du Québec. Both cherish the contribution of sports and arts in their educational development.

The LDT Foundation partnered with the FAEQ in 2019 to officially announce the creation of the LDT Foundation Scholarship Program at the "L'Érabl'hier de demain" event, an urban sugar shack dinner, for which Laurent was the ambassador. This first edition of the FAEQ's corporate event was a resounding success.

Laurent Duvernay-Tardif was an FAEQ scholarship recipient in 2009 for his leadership at the college level, and in 2013 for his athletic and academic excellence at the university level.

What they said:

«Like the mission of the LDT Foundation, our scholarship encourages balance between sports, arts, and studies. As a former FAEQ scholarship recipient, I am particularly proud that our foundation is offering financial support to 16 young people who impress us with their discipline, commitment, and passion. Due to social distancing, our event has been postponed to next year, so we'll see you on April 7, 2021, for the second edition of L'Érabl'hier de demain, benefiting the LDT Foundation and the FAEQ.»

Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, Co-President, LDT Foundation

«We are very happy and privileged to be able to count on the partnership and generosity of Laurent, whom we supported when he was already a model of discipline, rigor, and success in balancing football and medical studies. He is a true ambassador of our deepest values and confirms the relevance of our mission, which we have been pursuing for 35 years this year.
