Montreal, November 16, 2021<\/strong> The 8th edition of the Golf Qu\u00e9bec\/Foundation de l\u2019athl\u00e8te d\u2019excellence (FAEQ) Scholarship Program allowed 26 student-athletes in golf to share $70,000$in individual scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $4,000$.<\/p>\n

The Golf Qu\u00e9bec\/FAEQ Scholarship Program, established in 2014, stems from the desire of both organizations to provide financial assistance and better support young golfers, while also raising their awareness about pursuing and succeeding in their studies alongside their athletic careers.<\/p>\n

Six donors are involved in the program this year: Claude Chagnon<\/strong>, Fednav<\/strong>, F. Furst Enterprises LTD<\/strong>, Roland-Beaulieu Foundation<\/strong>, Peacock Family Foundation<\/strong> and Groupe Park Avenue<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A portion of the profits from 2021 Bonneville Challenge 808<\/strong> also helps to finance the Golf Qu\u00e9bec\/FAEQ Scholarship Program.<\/p>\n

The FAEQ and Golf Qu\u00e9bec took advantage of this virtual award ceremony to reiterate their commitments to encourage, mentor, and financially support 15 of the most promising young athletes returning to the scholarship program. They also welcomed 11 new recipients into their big family, whom they will support in their academic pursuits and for their next season.<\/p>\n

\u00abSince its inception, the program has proven its worth. The objective was to offer young male and female golfers the opportunity to train more comprehensively, using the same tools as athletes in other sports, all while benefiting from quality academic support. The excellent results of Quebecers on the national and even international scene in recent years clearly demonstrate that this vision was the right one. The FAEQ is very pleased to be able to contribute to their development thanks to the support of its valued partners.\u00bb<\/p>\n

\u00abGolf Qu\u00e9bec and the FAEQ are extremely proud of the evolution of this athlete bursary program since its inception. The coaching and support provided to bursary recipients over the first seven years has enabled many young golfers to make impressive personal and academic progress, and reach promising levels in competition. Many have even made it to the Golf Canada national team over the years. This is highly motivating for the new scholarship holders we welcome to the program this year. They can aspire to achieve high levels of performance, even on the international scene. I would like to highlight the resilience and perseverance of the athletes and their coaches over the last few months, which have been full of challenges. They have worked as a team to pursue their sporting development. Of course, the success of this program would not be possible without the financial support of generous donors. I thank them for their loyalty.\u00bb<\/p>\n
