Montreal, June 19, 2023 \u2013<\/strong> An important chapter of the Al\u00e9o Foundation comes to an end with the departure of its Director of Communications and Partnerships Annie Pelletier<\/strong>, the face of the Fondation de l'athl\u00e8te d'excellence du Qu\u00e9bec (FAEQ) since April 2005. Over her 18 years with the organization, she has rolled up her sleeves at more than 200 events and scholarship presentations.<\/p>\n

Master of the art of leading these activities, Annie touched people with her fabulous journey as an athlete. She also showed great attention to detail, always with the goal that our scholarship recipients and partners truly feel welcome within the greater Foundation family.<\/p>\n

\u00abI am very serene about passing the torch after 18 wonderful years of making the Foundation shine, supporting and showcasing our scholarship recipients while serving our many and precious partners with heart, rigor, and my personalized approach. Since 2005, I have had the privilege of being supported, respected, and esteemed, of learning, making mistakes, starting over, and growing as a professional, but also as a person.\u00bb<\/p>\n

\u00abI also had the chance to meet extraordinary people along my way and I would like to thank them: thank you to the executive management, my two super coaches<\/em> Pierre Dub\u00e9<\/strong> and Patricia Demers<\/strong>, to my precious colleagues over the years, to our generous partners, to our board of directors, and to two exceptional presidents, Claude Chagnon<\/strong> and Martin Lavigne<\/strong>. Thank you for your trust and for giving me this privilege to grow by making a difference in the lives and careers of our student-athletes.\u00bb<\/p>\n

\u00abAs I approach fifty, I will allow myself a few months of rest, reflection, and training to properly prepare for the new challenge I will soon dive back into! Long live the Al\u00e9o Foundation!\u00bb<\/p>\n

Proud ambassador<\/strong><\/p>\n

The bond between Annie and Al\u00e9o actually dates back even further than 2005\u2014more specifically, to 1995. As a young diver and future bronze medalist in the 3-metre springboard event at the Atlanta Olympics, she had received a 2,500 $ scholarship from partner Videotron.<\/p>\n

Pierre Dub\u00e9, executive director of the FAEQ when she received her scholarship in 1995 and then when she was hired 10 years later, wishes to emphasize her significant contribution to the organization. \u00abAnnie's hiring was certainly one of the Foundation's best decisions. Passionate, perfectionistic, constantly striving to improve, she quickly became a unique and exceptional spokesperson for the scholarship recipients, partners, media, as well as the sporting and Quebec community. Principled and authentic, she had a distinctive way of hosting events, in addition to delivering credible and touching testimonials. She brought even greater renown to the Foundation. She had and still has the FAEQ tattooed on her heart. Thank you Annie!\u00bb<\/p>\n

For Martin Lavigne<\/strong>, president of Al\u00e9o, Annie's departure is a sad moment, but allows the organization to recall the importance of her contribution over the past 18 years. \u00abAn important piece is leaving the Foundation. Annie will always be an integral part of our history, having greatly contributed to its development and rise.\u00bb<\/p>\n

His departure marks the end of an era for Al\u00e9o, but Patricia Demers<\/strong>, current executive director of the Foundation, ensures that a very special place will always be reserved for her. \u00abAnnie is leaving Al\u00e9o professionally to explore new paths, but she will forever remain a great ambassador for the Foundation.\u00bb<\/p>\n
