The Al\u00e9o Foundation creates a program to promote leadership among university student-athletes<\/strong><\/p>\n

Montreal, March 6, 2024<\/strong> \u2013 The Al\u00e9o Foundation is proud to announce a brand-new holistic leadership program for student-athletes, supported by the McCall MacBain Foundation. This new program aims to encourage RSEQ student-athletes at the university level to balance their studies and their sport while developing their leadership skills.<\/p>\n

The Al\u00e9o Foundation will welcome its first group of ten recipients in the fall of 2024. The selected student-athletes will participate in individualized coaching sessions as well as group workshops with leadership experts. Recipients will also receive a 4,000 $ scholarship to help cover the costs associated with competing at a high level in sports and pursuing university studies. Scholarships will be available to students from Quebec and elsewhere in Canada who are pursuing their studies at a Quebec institution.<\/p>\n

Student-athletes wishing to apply to the program must do so by visiting fondationaleo.ca and clicking on the tab Program leadership,<\/a> by April 12. We are looking for applications from student-athletes who demonstrate leadership skills, are committed and passionate about personal development, and are eligible for both the academic and athletic components of the RSEQ in fall 2024.<\/p>\n

\nAbout the McCall MacBain Foundation<\/strong><\/p>\n

The mission of the McCall MacBain Foundation is to improve the well-being of humanity through scholarships and other educational opportunities that foster transformative leadership, and by investing in evidence-based strategies to combat climate change, preserve our natural environment, and improve health outcomes.<\/p>\n

The Foundation has made significant investments in the leadership potential of young people, particularly through scholarships McCall MacBain at McGill<\/a>, with scholarships Rhodes<\/a>, at the Loran Scholars<\/a> and scholarships at several universities in Canada, including McMaster University<\/a> and at the\u2019Dalhousie University<\/a>, as well as scholarships Mandela Rhodes<\/a> in South Africa and on the stock exchanges Kupe Leadership<\/a> in New Zealand.<\/p>\n

Established in 1985, the Fondation de l\u2019athl\u00e8te d\u2019excellence (FAEQ) has awarded over $20 million in scholarships to nearly 4,000 outstanding student-athletes from across Quebec. With the goal of clarifying the organization's mission to propel athletes beyond sports, in 2022 the FAEQ rebranded and changed its name to Fondation Al\u00e9o. In addition to continuing its provision of scholarships and support services to tomorrow's leaders, it confirms its personalized approach, focusing on the overall well-being and development of its scholarship recipients in their performance.<\/p>\n

The Al\u00e9o Foundation Creates Program to Foster Leadership in University Student-Athletes<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Montreal - March 6the<\/sup>, 2024-<\/strong> The Al\u00e9o Foundation is proud to announce a brand-new holistic leadership program for student-athletes, supported by the McCall MacBain Foundation. This new program aims to encourage student-athletes competing in the RSEQ at the university level, to combine their studies and their sport as well as develop their leadership skills.<\/p>\n

The Al\u00e9o Foundation will welcome its first group of ten recipients in the fall of 2024. Student-athletes selected for the program will participate in individualized coaching sessions as well as group seminars led by experts in leadership training. Recipients will also receive a $4000 stipend to help offset the costs of pursuing high-level sports and academics. Scholarships will be available to students from Quebec and elsewhere in Canada who are pursuing their studies at a Quebec institution.<\/p>\n
