As a key partner of the Aléo Foundation, Cascades has chosen to be a major supporter of hundreds of student-athletes over the past two decades. The company has thus demonstrated, just like the Aléo Foundation, how firmly it believes in the human potential of local athletes.

Cascades has notably served as a springboard for Alexandre Bilodeau, Mikaël Kingsbury, Alex Harvey, Amélie Kretz, Elizabeth and Françoise Abanda, Emilie and Hugues Fournel. Among these athletes are Olympic champion Alexandre Bilodeau, now a financier and member of the Aléo Foundation's board of directors, as well as Olympians Jean-Philippe Le Guellec, Catrine Lavallée and several others.

Two other Cascades scholarship recipients also made a very significant gesture. Alex-Anne and Marc-Antoine Gagnon, two freestyle skiers, supported by their parents, awarded their first scholarship as part of the program Give to the following. The Gagnon family awarded a scholarship of 2,000 $ to Vicky Roblain, also a moguls freestyle skier. A fully donor-funded scholarship by the Gagnons, accompanied by lifetime services from the Aléo Foundation.

Like the Gagnons, another Cascades scholarship holder, Christelle Doyon also personally participated in two Aléo Foundation programs over the past few months. In February, she was a donor for Next Generation Access and, at the end of May, it was her turn to present a scholarship Give to the following during the Aléo Foundation's spring cocktail party.

In their own words:

«Cascades truly believes in the exceptional role models that student-athletes represent in our society. 1964, Cascades offers sustainable, innovative, and value-added packaging, hygiene, and recovery solutions. The company employs 10,000 women and men in a network of nearly 70 production units across North America. Its management philosophy, half a century of recycling experience, and sustained research and development efforts are the driving forces that allow it to create innovative products for its clientele while contributing to the well-being of people, communities, and the planet.

About the Aléo Foundation
Founded in 1985, the Foundation for Athletic Excellence (FAEQ) has awarded more than $25 million in scholarships to nearly 5,000 student-athletes from across Quebec. To better reflect the organization’s mission of helping athletes thrive beyond sports, the FAEQ changed its name and brand image in 2022, becoming the Aléo Foundation. In addition to continuing to provide scholarships and guidance services to the leaders of tomorrow, it maintains its personalized approach, in which the overall development and well-being of its scholarship recipients are at the heart of its activities.

For more information, visit fondationaleo.ca or the Aléo Foundation's social media pages:

LinkedIn
Facebook
Instagram
YouTube
Spotify

– 30 –

Annie Dubé
Director of Communications and Marketing
Aleo Foundation
438-884-6626
annie.dube@fondationaleo.ca

Hugo D'Amours
Vice President, Communications, Public Affairs and Sustainability
Cascades Inc.
819-363-5164
hugo_damours@cascades.com

Montréal, le 12 juin 2024 – Dans le cadre des 20 ans de collaboration entre la Fondation Aléo et Cascades, en présence de M.
