Montreal, June 6, 2024<\/strong> \u2013 The Le BUT Foundation and the Al\u00e9o Foundation share common objectives, including promoting access to sport. As a result, the two foundations are joining forces today to create a new scholarship program aimed at supporting high-potential young hockey and para-hockey players from the Greater Montreal, Laval, North Shore, and surrounding regions who may not necessarily have the financial means to succeed.<\/p>\n

Specifically, 14 up-and-coming student-athletes will receive a total of 25,000$ annually in scholarships and services provided by the\u00a0Foundation<\/span>\u00a0Al\u00e9o, and this for the next three years. The targeted athletes will be between 13 and 17 years old and must be identified\u00a0Hope<\/i>\u00a0by Hockey Qu\u00e9bec. The first scholarship presentation will take place in the fall of 2024.<\/p>\n

Former scholar of the\u00a0Foundation<\/span>\u00a0Hello,\u00a0at a<\/span>\u00a0founder and president of the\u00a0Foundation<\/span>\u00a0The<\/span>\u00a0But<\/span>, Pierre Gendron desired this natural alliance in order to have the opportunity to give back to those who follow. Supported in the 1990s by Al\u00e9o, he will now provide today's youth with support that will enable them to go further toward their dreams.<\/p>\n

\u00abIn my journey, I have had help to reach my goals. Without this help, including that of the\u00a0Foundation<\/span>\u00a0from the Quebec Athlete of Excellence Foundation (now Al\u00e9o), I wouldn't have been able to play hockey up to the National Hockey League. The\u00a0Foundation<\/span>\u00a0The<\/span>\u00a0BUT<\/span>\u00a0collects and redistributes hockey equipment in addition to paying registration fees when necessary. Now, with the\u00a0Foundation<\/span>\u00a0Hello, I want to go even further and help young elite hockey players pursue their\u00a0at a<\/span>\u00a0sport they love. If this helping hand allows them to overcome an obstacle and keep going, mission accomplished!\u00bb<\/p>\n

This new partnership brings together precisely the combination of these two programs!\u00bb<\/p>\n

About the\u00a0Foundation<\/span>\u00a0The<\/span>\u00a0BUT<\/span><\/b>Launched\u00a0at a<\/span>\u00a0September 21, 2022, La\u00a0Foundation<\/span>\u00a0at a<\/span>\u00a0But<\/span>\u00a0distributed over 1,000 pairs of skates. Whether in the Greater Montreal area or even in certain more remote regions, the\u00a0Foundation<\/span>\u00a0makes a difference in the lives of many hockey players. With the objective of making\u00a0at a<\/span>\u00a0hockey accessible to youth of all ages to get them moving and socializing, the\u00a0foundation<\/span>\u00a0collect the used hockey equipment, and\u00a0at a<\/span>\u00a0reassign to players in\u00a0at a<\/span>\u00a0need. \nEstablished in 1985, the\u00a0Foundation<\/span>\u00a0of the Fondation de l'athl\u00e8te d'excellence (FAEQ) has awarded more than 25 million dollars in bursaries to nearly 5,000 elite student-athletes from all over Quebec. In\u00a0at a<\/span>\u00a0but<\/span>\u00a0to clarify the mission of the organization, which aims to propel the athlete beyond sport, FAEQ changed its name and brand image in 2022; it is now called\u00a0Foundation<\/span>\u00a0Al\u00e9o.
