Un total de 15 000 $ en bourses et en services a \u00e9t\u00e9 distribu\u00e9 lors de cette remise.<\/p>\r\n<p>Jamais avare de conseils et de partage, <b>Georges St-Pierre<\/b> a offert beaucoup plus qu\u2019un ch\u00e8que aux sept r\u00e9cipiendaires 2025. Comme chaque ann\u00e9e, il a tenu \u00e0 \u00eatre pr\u00e9sent pour faire connaissance personnellement avec ses boursi\u00e8res et ses boursiers et a accord\u00e9 une attention particuli\u00e8re, doubl\u00e9e d\u2019un r\u00e9el int\u00e9r\u00eat, envers chaque athl\u00e8te au sujet de leurs r\u00e9ussites et de leurs d\u00e9fis. Les r\u00e9cipiendaires ont ainsi eu la chance d\u2019\u00e9changer et m\u00eame de faire une d\u00e9monstration de leur discipline avec l\u2019ancien champion du monde d\u2019arts martiaux mixtes, philanthrope et entrepreneur.<\/p>\r\n<p>Un des objectifs du Programme de bourses de la Fondation Georges St-Pierre est de soutenir des \u00e9tudiant\u00b7e\u00b7s-athl\u00e8tes pratiquant un sport que l\u2019athl\u00e8te lui-m\u00eame int\u00e9grait dans sa pr\u00e9paration : la boxe, l\u2019escrime, la gymnastique artistique, le judo, le karat\u00e9, la lutte et le taekwondo.<\/p>\r\n<p>La Maison du loisir et du sport s\u2019est pour l\u2019occasion transform\u00e9e en dojo alors que des tatamis ont \u00e9t\u00e9 install\u00e9s pour la remise, permettant de sympathiques d\u00e9monstrations de tous les sports en vedette lors de la remise. <b>Benoit Beaudoin<\/b>, reporter &#8211; journaliste sp\u00e9cialiste des arts martiaux mixtes, a \u00e9t\u00e9 l\u2019animateur invit\u00e9 de l\u2019activit\u00e9.<\/p>\r\n<p><b>In their own words:<\/b><\/p>\r\n<p>\u00ab Chaque ann\u00e9e, la remise de bourses que nous faisons avec la Fondation Al\u00e9o est un moment que j\u2019adore. Si les jeunes sont heureux de partager ce moment avec moi et que je leur raconte un bout de mon histoire, je tiens \u00e0 souligner que c\u2019est tout aussi enrichissant pour moi d\u2019aller \u00e0 leur rencontre. Ils et elles sont des humains qui se b\u00e2tissent avec d\u00e9termination, qui choisissent des chemins qui ne sont pas les plus faciles, mais qui les passionnent. Je me vois en elles et en eux. Les disciplines sportives choisies, individuellement et combin\u00e9es, ont forg\u00e9 celui que je suis devenu. C\u2019est important pour moi de reconna\u00eetre cet apport et d\u2019encourager les jeunes \u00e0 poursuivre dans cette voie. \u00bb<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><b>&#8211; Georges St-Pierre<\/b><\/p>\r\n<p>\u00ab C\u2019est vraiment un privil\u00e8ge de compter sur Georges St-Pierre, depuis plus de 10 ans. Pour ces jeunes, la rencontre avec ce champion du monde de renomm\u00e9e plan\u00e9taire offre une exp\u00e9rience qui bonifie de fa\u00e7on exponentielle la bourse re\u00e7ue. Et ce n\u2019est pas que par son aura, Georges s\u2019int\u00e9resse r\u00e9ellement aux r\u00e9cipiendaires, il inspire tous ceux qui le rencontrent et est tr\u00e8s g\u00e9n\u00e9reux avec chacune des personnes pr\u00e9sentes. L\u2019\u00e9tudiante en 4<sup>e<\/sup> secondaire \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole Des Sources, qui a grandi Laval et demeure d\u00e9sormais \u00e0 Terrebonne, souhaite cette ann\u00e9e se classer parmi les 5 meilleures gymnastes au pays. Comme fait d\u2019armes, elle a notamment termin\u00e9 4<sup>e<\/sup> au saut \u00e0 l\u2019International Gymnix, \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al, en mars 2024. Retenez bien son nom, alors qu\u2019Alyssa r\u00eave d\u2019un podium olympique.<\/p>\r\n<p><b>Josu\u00e9 Kouie \u2013 Boxe olympique<\/b><br \/><b>15 ans \u2013 Montr\u00e9al (Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve)<br \/>2000 $ &#8211; 1<\/b><b><sup>Re<\/sup><\/b><b> bourse Fondation GSP et 2<\/b><b><sup>e<\/sup><\/b><b> de la Fondation Al\u00e9o<\/b><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>\u00c9tudie en 4<sup>e<\/sup> secondaire \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole \u00c9douard-Montpetit.<\/li>\r\n<li>A remport\u00e9 les Champions canadiens dans sa cat\u00e9gorie en 2024.<\/li>\r\n<li>Cette ann\u00e9e, Josu\u00e9 vise une autre victoire aux Championnats canadiens, ainsi que des victoires en comp\u00e9titions internationales.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>En 2024, Josu\u00e9 Kouie, de Montr\u00e9al, a remport\u00e9 le titre de champion canadien de sa cat\u00e9gorie en boxe olympique! L\u2019\u00e9tudiant en 4<sup>e<\/sup> secondaire \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole \u00c9douard-Montpetit souhaite, en 2025, remonter sur la plus haute marche des Championnats canadiens en plus de remporter des combats sur la sc\u00e8ne internationale!<\/p>\r\n<p><b>Antoine Ouellet \u2013 Karat\u00e9<\/b><br \/><b>13 ans \u2013 Gatineau<br \/>2000 $ &#8211; 1<\/b><b><sup>Re<\/sup><\/b><b> bourse Fondation GSP et Fondation Al\u00e9o<\/b><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>\u00c9tudie en 2<sup>e<\/sup> secondaire \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole Polyvalente Nicolas-Gatineau.<\/li>\r\n<li>Champion canadien chez les juv\u00e9niles (moins de 45 kg) en juillet 2024, \u00e0 Laval.<\/li>\r\n<li>Cette saison, Antoine souhaite remporter \u00e0 nouveau le titre national et retourner aux Championnats panam\u00e9ricains pour am\u00e9liorer sa r\u00e9cente performance, lui qui avait termin\u00e9 7<sup>e<\/sup> \u00e0 ces championnats, au Br\u00e9sil, en 2024.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>Le karat\u00e9 est une histoire de famille pour Antoine Ouellet qui s\u2019illustre sur les tatamis, tout comme ses deux jeunes fr\u00e8res. L\u2019\u00e9tudiant en 2e secondaire \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole Polyvalente Nicolas-Gatineau a \u00e9t\u00e9 couronn\u00e9 champion canadien chez les juv\u00e9niles (moins de 45 kg) en juillet 2024, \u00e0 Laval. L\u2019\u00e9tudiant-athl\u00e8te souhaite devenir policier tout en demeurant impliqu\u00e9 dans son sport!<\/p>\r\n<p><b>Maude Ricard \u2013 Taekwondo<\/b><br \/><b>17 ans \u2013 Qu\u00e9bec<br \/>2000 $ &#8211; 1<\/b><b><sup>Re<\/sup><\/b><b> bourse Fondation GSP et Fondation Al\u00e9o<\/b><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>\u00c9tudie en sciences de la nature au C\u00e9gep Garneau.<\/li>\r\n<li>M\u00e9daill\u00e9e d\u2019argent des Championnats canadiens s\u00e9niors, en mars 2024, dans sa cat\u00e9gorie de poids.<\/li>\r\n<li>Son principal objectif est de remporter les Championnats canadiens s\u00e9niors pour \u00eatre s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9e au sein de l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe nationale. Cela lui permettrait \u00e9galement de participer aux Championnats du monde \u00e0 Glasgow.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>Multiple m\u00e9daill\u00e9e sur la sc\u00e8ne internationale au courant des deux derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, m\u00e9daill\u00e9 d\u2019argent des Championnats canadiens s\u00e9niors, en mars 2024, Maude Ricard, de Qu\u00e9bec, s\u2019illustre sur la plan\u00e8te teakwondo. En janvier 2025, Maude d\u00e9butera officiellement sa carri\u00e8re chez les s\u00e9niors. Son principal objectif est de remporter les Championnats canadiens s\u00e9niors pour \u00eatre s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9e au sein de l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe nationale. Cela lui permettrait \u00e9galement de participer aux Championnats du monde \u00e0 Glasgow.<\/p>\r\n<p>\u00ab Je crois que la r\u00e9silience et la pers\u00e9v\u00e9rance sont les 2 qualificatifs qui d\u00e9crivent le mieux mon parcours sportif. De la petite fille timide qui gagnait peu de combats dans ses premi\u00e8res ann\u00e9es du sport, j&rsquo;ai pu devenir une athl\u00e8te \u00e9lite qui rivalise avec les meilleures au monde dans ma cat\u00e9gorie. Mon parcours n&rsquo;a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 un long fleuve tranquille, mais a \u00e9t\u00e9 fait de hauts et de bas durant lesquels j&rsquo;ai toujours su garder la t\u00eate hors de l&rsquo;eau et progresser continuellement en gardant ma motivation. Cette saison, le lutteur de Beaconsfield vise passer de la deuxi\u00e8me \u00e0 la premi\u00e8re marche du podium des Championnats canadiens! En plus de la lutte olympique, l\u2019\u00e9tudiant du C\u00e9gep Vanier aime monter sur la sc\u00e8ne pour des <i>stands up<\/i> ou du th\u00e9\u00e2tre et est tr\u00e8s acrobatique! A total of $15,000 in scholarships and services was distributed at the event.<\/p>\r\n<p>Always generous with advice and knowledge, <b>Georges St-Pierre<\/b> offered much more than a cheque to the seven recipients of this year\u2019s cohort. As he does every year, he made a point of being on hand to get to know the recipients personally, paying special attention and showing genuine interest in each athlete&rsquo;s successes and challenges. Recipients had the chance to discuss and even demonstrate their discipline with the former world mixed martial arts champion, philanthropist and entrepreneur.<\/p>\r\n<p>One of the objectives of the Georges St-Pierre Foundation Scholarship Program is to support student-athletes who practice a sport that Georges himself integrates into his preparation: boxing, fencing, artistic gymnastics, judo, karate, wrestling and taekwondo.<\/p>\r\n<p>The Maison du loisir et du sport was transformed into a dojo for the occasion, and tatamis were set up for the presentation, allowing friendly demonstrations of all the disciplines featured at the event. <b>Benoit Beaudoin<\/b>, journalist and reporter specializing in mixed martial arts, was guest host for the event.<\/p>\r\n<p><b>In their words:<\/b><\/p>\r\n<p>\u201cEvery year, the ceremony we organize with the Al\u00e9o Foundation is a moment I enjoy. They are human beings who build themselves up with determination, who choose paths that are not always the easiest, but for which they are passionate about. I see myself in them. This would also enable her to take part in the World Championships in Glasgow.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>Multiple international medallist over the past two years, silver medallist at the Canadian Senior Championships in March 2024, Quebec City&rsquo;s Maude Ricard is making a name for herself on the teakwondo scene. In January 2025, Maude will officially begin her senior career, her main objective being to win the Canadian Senior Championships and to be selected for the national team. This would also enable her to take part in the World Championships in Glasgow.<\/p>\r\n<p>\u201cI think resilience and perseverance are the 2 words that best describe my sporting career. From the shy little girl who won few fights in her early years of the sport, I was able to become an elite athlete who competes with the best in the world in my category.
