Montr\u00e9al, le 2 d\u00e9cembre 2025 \u2013<\/b> Un total de 391 000 $ en bourses a \u00e9t\u00e9 remis \u00e0 215 \u00e9tudiant\u00b7e\u00b7s-athl\u00e8tes des c\u00e9geps et universit\u00e9s membres du R\u00e9seau du sport \u00e9tudiant du Qu\u00e9bec (RSEQ) lors de l\u2019\u00e9dition 40e<\/sup> anniversaire de cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement Al\u00e9o, pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e par RDS. \u00c0 ce montant, une valeur de pr\u00e8s de 100 000 $ en services d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s \u00e0 vie aux r\u00e9cipiendaires par la Fondation Al\u00e9o est ajout\u00e9e, pour fr\u00f4ler le demi-million investi dans la jeunesse qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise et le sport.<\/p>\n

Au cours de la soir\u00e9e qui s\u2019est d\u00e9roul\u00e9e dans les locaux de la Maison du loisir et du sport, l\u2019animateur de la soir\u00e9e Fran\u00e7ois-\u00c9tienne Corbin a eu l\u2019occasion de mettre en lumi\u00e8re 78 nouveaux r\u00e9cipiendaires de bourses dont 21 bourses de recrutement coll\u00e9gial RDS de 3000 $ sur 3 ans et de 22 bourses de recrutement universitaire de 10 000 $ sur 5 ans.<\/p>\n

Parmi les boursiers universitaires, quatre sont issus du programme Donnez au suivant, dont les deux bourses offertes par Pierre Gendron, ancien boursier en hockey \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 McGill.<\/p>\n

De plus, 10 bourses d\u2019Excellence acad\u00e9mique offertes par Gildan et Molson Coors ont soulign\u00e9 une conciliation remarquable du sport et des \u00e9tudes.<\/p>\n

Initi\u00e9 en 2024, le programme Leadership McCall MacBain a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 ses 13 r\u00e9cipiendaires de la cohorte 2025-2026. Parmi eux, les deux r\u00e9cipiendaires du prix Guy-Lafleur remis par le Canadien de Montr\u00e9al.<\/p>\n

Comme chaque ann\u00e9e, des bourses sp\u00e9ciales Fondation Al\u00e9o, destin\u00e9es \u00e0 des \u00e9tudiant\u00b7e\u00b7s-athl\u00e8tes ayant entam\u00e9 leur parcours postsecondaire dans un \u00e9tablissement \u00e0 l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur de la province et qui ont fait un retour au Qu\u00e9bec, ont \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 distribu\u00e9es \u00e0 sept r\u00e9cipiendaires.<\/p>\n

Finalement, cinq boursi\u00e8res sont devenues les premi\u00e8res du nouveau programme de Basketball Qu\u00e9bec encourageant le leadership f\u00e9minin en basketball<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Les 137 autres boursi\u00e8res et boursiers sont des \u00e9tudiant\u00b7e\u00b7s de deuxi\u00e8me ann\u00e9e et plus de leur parcours coll\u00e9gial ou universitaire, d\u00e9j\u00e0 r\u00e9cipiendaires de la Fondation Al\u00e9o.<\/p>\n

Programme entrepreneurial soutenu par Danny Desriveaux<\/b><\/p>\n

Dans le cadre du programme Donnez au suivant, Danny Desriveaux, ancien joueur professionnel de football et aujourd\u2019hui conseiller financier, a choisi de donner une touche sp\u00e9ciale \u00e0 la bourse portant son nom. Celle-ci a \u00e9t\u00e9 remise \u00e0 Ilan Barbaras, joueur de football \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 McGill, un \u00e9tudiant-athl\u00e8te qui a d\u00e9montr\u00e9 des aptitudes entrepreneuriales doubl\u00e9es de bons r\u00e9sultats scolaires et sportifs.<\/p>\n

\u00ab En ce 40e anniversaire, nous pouvons aussi c\u00e9l\u00e9brer les quatre d\u00e9cennies de notre plus ancien programme, celui n\u00e9 en m\u00eame temps que la Fondation en 1985, les bourses coll\u00e9giales et universitaires. Les cohortes se renouvellent chaque ann\u00e9e, mais nous retrouvons toujours cet enthousiasme des recrues qui endossent avec fiert\u00e9 les couleurs de leur nouvelle \u00e9quipe. About the Al\u00e9o Foundation<\/b>
\nThe Al\u00e9o Foundation's mission is to maximize the full potential of as many outstanding student-athletes as possible from all backgrounds, in order to generate significant and lasting impact. Created in 1985, it has awarded over $25 million in scholarships to more than 5,000 student-athletes from across Quebec. Cegep and university scholarship awards presented by RDS: 40 years of inspiring recruits<\/h1>\n

Montreal, December 2, 2025\u2013<\/b> A total of $391,000 in scholarships was awarded to 215 student-athletes from Cegeps and universities that are members of the R\u00e9seau du sport \u00e9tudiant du Qu\u00e9bec (RSEQ) during the 40th anniversary edition of this Al\u00e9o event, presented by RDS. Added to this amount is nearly $100,000 in lifetime services provided to recipients by the Al\u00e9o Foundation, bringing the total investment in Quebec youth and sports to nearly half a million dollars.<\/p>\n

During the evening event held at the Maison du loisir et du sport, host Fran\u00e7ois-\u00c9tienne Corbin had the opportunity to highlight 78 new scholarship recipients, including 21 RDS Cegep recruitment scholarships worth $3,000 over three years and 22 university recruitment scholarships worth $10,000 over five years.<\/p>\n

Among the university scholarship recipients, four are from the Donnez au suivant program, including two scholarships offered by Pierre Gendron, a former hockey scholarship recipient at McGill University.<\/p>\n

In addition, 10 Academic Excellence Scholarships offered by Gildan and Molson Coors recognized outstanding achievements in balancing sports and academics.<\/p>\n

Launched in 2024, the McCall MacBain Leadership Program has announced its 13 recipients for the 2025-2026 cohort. Among them were the two recipients of the Guy Lafleur Award presented by the Montreal Canadiens.<\/p>\n

As every year, special Al\u00e9o Foundation scholarships, intended for student-athletes who began their post-secondary studies at an institution outside the province and have returned to Quebec, were also awarded to seven recipients.<\/p>\n

Finally, five scholarship recipients became the first in Basketball Quebec’s new program promoting female leadership in basketball<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The other 137 scholarship recipients are students in their second year or above of Cegep or university, who are already recipients of the Al\u00e9o Foundation scholarship.<\/p>\n

Entrepreneurial program supported by Danny Desriveaux<\/b><\/p>\n

As part of the Donnez au suivant program, Danny Desriveaux, a former professional football player and now a financial advisor, chose to add a special touch to the scholarship bearing his name. It was awarded to Ilan Barbaras, a football player at McGill University and a student-athlete who has demonstrated entrepreneurial skills coupled with strong academic and athletic achievements.<\/p>\n
