L\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement a permis d\u2019amasser <b>267 610 $<\/b> pour soutenir le d\u00e9veloppement des athl\u00e8tes d\u2019ici, dont la rel\u00e8ve qui participera aux Jeux du Canada 2027.<\/p>\n<p>R\u00e9unis sous la copr\u00e9sidence d\u2019honneur de <b>Christian Fournier<\/b>, vice-pr\u00e9sident ex\u00e9cutif et leader, Assurance de dommages chez Beneva, et de <b>S\u00e9bastien Vall\u00e9e<\/b>, premier vice-pr\u00e9sident, Gestion de patrimoine chez Desjardins, gens d\u2019affaires, partenaires et athl\u00e8tes olympiques et paralympiques ont uni leurs efforts afin de soutenir concr\u00e8tement la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration d\u2019athl\u00e8tes.<\/p>\n<p>Parmi les personnalit\u00e9s sportives pr\u00e9sentes figuraient notamment <b>Ga\u00e9tan Boucher<\/b>, premier canadien m\u00e9daill\u00e9 d\u2019or individuel aux Jeux olympiques d\u2019hiver, premier coporte-parole de la Fondation Al\u00e9o en 1985 et ancien participant aux Jeux du Canada en 1971. Les invit\u00e9s ont \u00e9galement eu l\u2019occasion de rencontrer la boursi\u00e8re Al\u00e9o <b>Val\u00e9rie Maltais<\/b>, quintuple m\u00e9daill\u00e9e olympique, dont trois m\u00e9dailles remport\u00e9es aux plus r\u00e9cents Jeux olympiques de Milan-Cortina, o\u00f9 elle a eu l\u2019honneur de porter le drapeau canadien alors de la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie de cl\u00f4ture.<\/p>\n<p>Plusieurs athl\u00e8tes olympiques et paralympiques boursiers de la Fondation Al\u00e9o \u00e9taient \u00e9galement pr\u00e9sents, dont <b>Laurent Dubreuil<\/b>, <b>Marion Th\u00e9nault<\/b>, <b>Cindy Ouellet<\/b> and <b>Aur\u00e9lie Rivard. <\/b>La soir\u00e9e a aussi pu compter sur la participation de deux anciens athl\u00e8tes aujourd\u2019hui membre de l\u2019\u00e9quipe Al\u00e9o, <b>Fran\u00e7ois-Olivier Roberge<\/b>, coanimateur de la soir\u00e9e, et <b>Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Chagnon<\/b>, r\u00e9cemment retrait\u00e9 des Alouettes de Montr\u00e9al. L\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement \u00e9tait coanim\u00e9 par l\u2019animateur de Radio-Canada <b>Guillaume Dumas<\/b>, grand passionn\u00e9 de sport.<\/p>\n<p>Plusieurs athl\u00e8tes, actif\u00b7ve\u00b7s et retrait\u00e9\u00b7e\u00b7s, ont d\u2019ailleurs soulign\u00e9 l\u2019importance de participer \u00e0 cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement afin de redonner \u00e0 la Fondation Al\u00e9o et aux Jeux du Canada, deux organisations qui ont jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le marquant dans leur parcours. The event raised <b>$267,610<\/b> to support the development of athletes, including the next generation who will compete in the 2027 Canada Games.<\/p>\n<p>Held under the honorary co-chairmanship of <b>Christian Fournier<\/b>, Executive Vice-President and Leader &#8211; Property &amp; Casualty Insurance at Beneva, and <b>S\u00e9bastien Vall\u00e9e<\/b>, Senior Vice-President of Wealth Management at Desjardins, the evening brought together business leaders, partners, and Olympic and Paralympic athletes in support of the next generation of athletes.<\/p>\n<p>Among the distinguished sports figures in attendance was <b>Ga\u00e9tan Boucher<\/b>, the first Canadian to win an individual gold medal at the Winter Olympics, the first co-spokesperson for the Al\u00e9o Foundation in 1985, and a participant in the 1971 Canada Games. Guests also had the opportunity to spend the evening with Al\u00e9o scholarship recipient <b>Val\u00e9rie Maltais<\/b>, a five-time Olympic medalist, including three medals at the most recent Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina, where she had the honor of carrying the Canadian flag at the closing ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>Several Olympic and Paralympic scholarship athletes were also present, including <b>Laurent Dubreuil<\/b>, <b>Marion Th\u00e9nault<\/b>, <b>Cindy Ouellet<\/b>, and <b>Aur\u00e9lie Rivard<\/b>. The evening also featured two members of the Al\u00e9o team who are former athletes, <b>Fran\u00e7ois-Olivier Roberge<\/b>, co-host of the evening, and <b>Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Chagnon<\/b>, recently retired from the Montreal Alouettes. The event was co-hosted by Radio-Canada host and sports enthusiast Guillaume Dumas.<\/p>\n<p>Many active and retired athletes emphasized the importance of participating in the event to give back to the Al\u00e9o Foundation and the Canada Games, two organizations that played a significant role in their journey.
