Montreal, September 28, 2026 \u2013 <\/strong>The Luguentz Dort Foundation, the Maizon Dort Foundation, partners with the Al\u00e9o Foundation to offer financial support and sustainable support to the next generation of basketball student-athletes. Announced during the 2026 edition of Camp \u00c9lite 5, this alliance constitutes a direct extension of the mission of the Maizon Dort Foundation: investing in the potential of young people and creating concrete opportunities to help them progress in sport, at school, and in their community.<\/p>\n

Two scholarships of 2,500 $ each were thus awarded to Noah May and Malek Alphonse, two Quebec-based student athletes who excel in their sports and academic achievements. Thanks to this partnership, they will also have access to the support services that the Al\u00e9o Foundation offers for life to its scholarship recipients.<\/p>\n

Luguentz Dort becomes, by virtue of this, the first active professional athlete of his generation to partner with the Al\u00e9o Foundation. His commitment is part of the work carried out throughout the year by the Maizon Dort Foundation to reduce the obstacles faced by young people from underserved communities.<\/p>\n

The Camp \u00c9lite 5 at the heart of the partnership<\/strong><\/p>\n

Organized by the Maizon Dort Foundation, Camp \u00c9lite 5 brings together young players among the most promising in Quebec for an intensive development experience. They are accompanied by top-level coaches, deepen their understanding of the path to professional basketball and receive advice tailored to the demands of elite sports. Over the years, Quebec talent such as Eli Jolin, Olivier Rioux, J\u00e9r\u00e9my Gohier (Al\u00e9o scholarship holder 2025-2026) and Grady Kapuanya have notably participated in the camp.<\/p>\n

\u00ab The Maizon Dort Foundation exists to transform the potential of young people into concrete opportunities. With Camp \u00c9lite 5, we give them access to high-level coaching; with the Al\u00e9o Foundation, we can now extend this support well beyond the field and accompany them in their sporting and academic careers. The collaboration took shape during the end of the Camp \u00c9lite 5 weekend. Invited by the Maizon Dort Foundation, Patricia Demers, general director of the Al\u00e9o Foundation, presented the organization and its model of support to the participants, participants, and their families before the awards ceremony.<\/p>\n

\u00abBy becoming the first active professional athlete of his generation to partner with the Al\u00e9o Foundation, Luguentz Dort is making a gesture that goes beyond financial support. With the Maizon Dort Foundation, he recognizes the potential of Noah and Malek and opens them up to access to a support team that will remain present at every stage of their journey. This association revives a tradition of sporting philanthropy that Al\u00e9o had notably developed in the 1990s with the program The winning goal<\/em>, This initiative, in which several National Hockey League players participated, aims to encourage other active professional athletes to invest in the next generation.<\/p>\n

\n> Malek wants to defend the national champion title with the Coll\u00e8ge Jean-de-Br\u00e9beuf and dreams of adding the MVP title of the season to that for the RSEQ division 1 league.<\/p>\n

\n> Studies humanities at the Coll\u00e8ge Jean-de-Br\u00e9beuf
\n> Noah has just joined the Dynamiques du Coll\u00e8ge Jean-de-Br\u00e9beuf, the national collegiate championship team.<\/p>\n

About the Maizon Dort Foundation<\/strong><\/p>\n

Founded in 2022 by Luguentz Dort and his family, the Maizon Dort Foundation has a mission to support educational success and the development of young people from underserved communities through sports, creative expression, and school support. Active in Montreal, Oklahoma City, and central Arizona, it provides resources and opportunities that foster the development of young people and families while reducing the obstacles Luguentz Dort himself faced growing up.<\/p>\n

His initiatives include, among others, Camp Lu the Beast, which makes basketball and its learning accessible to young people from the community, as well as Camp \u00c9lite 5, aimed at Quebec hopefuls who want to take a new step in their sporting and personal development.<\/p>\n

About the Al\u00e9o Foundation<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Al\u00e9o Foundation has the mission to maximize the full potential of the largest number of outstanding female and male athletes from all backgrounds in order to generate significant and lasting impact. Founded in 1985, it has awarded more than 25 million dollars in scholarships to more than 5,000 female and male athletes across Quebec. In addition to these scholarships, lifetime support services are provided to each recipient during and after their sporting and academic journey. The Al\u00e9o Research Chair supports this support component by producing scientific knowledge accessible to the entire Quebec sports community.<\/p>\n

The G\u00e9n\u00e9rations d\u2019impact fundraising campaign aims to raise six million dollars over three years to realize the Foundation\u2019s vision: to enable elite female and male athletes to enrich society through their leadership, contributions, and the examples they embody.<\/p>\n
