Montreal, February 24, 2024 – The collaboration between Golf Québec and the Aléo Foundation, established in 2014, once again this year makes it possible to support 30 emerging athletes by offering them $90,000 $ in scholarships and services to pursue their athletic and academic goals. Since the beginning of this program, more than $900,000 $ has been awarded in scholarships and services to golfers in Quebec.
During the commencement, the 2024 cohort had the benefit of the advice and testimony of’Étienne Papineau, a scholarship recipient from the very first edition in 2014 and now a professional golfer. The recipients thus saw the concrete impact of the Aléo Foundation on a golfer's journey, all the way to the highest levels.
This year, the 10e The award ceremony for the Golf Québec x Aléo Foundation Scholarship Program is made possible thanks to six generous donors: Claude Chagnon, Fednav, F. Furst Enterprises LTD, Roland-Beaulieu Foundation, Peacock Family Foundation and Groupe Park Avenue. Their donations are in addition to a portion of the profits from Challenge 808 Bonneville 2023 dedicated to this program.
The Golf Québec x Aléo Foundation Scholarship Program was created jointly by the two organizations to financially assist and better support young golfers, while raising their awareness of the critical importance of their studies in conjunction with their sporting careers.
In their own words:
«Golf is a sport with a unique reality, and it's important for us to support student-athletes in this discipline in the best possible way. Our collaboration with Golf Québec thus allows us to participate in the athletic development of today's and tomorrow's athletes and to offer them the opportunity to train in a more comprehensive manner, using the same tools as athletes in other sports, all while benefiting from quality academic support.»
– Patricia Demers, Executive Director of the Aléo Foundation
«Golf Québec is very proud of its association with the Aléo Foundation over the past ten years. There are many examples of success. Étienne Papineau and Celeste Dao, to name just a few, have benefited from the Foundation's continued support to pursue their academic and athletic development. Several other young athletes have received the same guidance, and this will certainly be the case for the recipients of the 2024 cohort. They can all aspire to achieve high levels of performance, even on the international stage. I would also like to highlight the work accomplished by the coaches, who are an important pillar in the development of young athletes. The partnership between our two organizations adequately supports Golf Québec's theme of igniting passions and nurturing dreams. Obviously, the success of this program would be impossible without the financial contribution of generous donors. I thank them for their loyalty.»

Golf Québec/Aléo Foundation Bursary Program Marks 10 Years
A strategy that helps set the course
Montreal, February 24, 2024 – This year, the collaboration between Golf Québec and the Aléo Foundation, which was initiated in 2014, is once again making it possible to support thirty promising student-athletes by awarding them a total of $$90,000 in bursaries and services to help them pursue their sport and academic goals. Since the program was launched ten years ago, more than $$900,000 in bursaries and services have been awarded to golfers in Quebec.
During the ceremony, the 2024 cohort benefitted from the advice and personal accounts of Étienne Papineau, a bursary recipient from the very first edition in 2014, who is now a professional golfer. This year’s bursary recipients can tangibly see how the Aléo Foundation can impact a golfer’s career, all the way up to the highest levels of the sport.
The tenth annual Golf Québec/Aléo Foundation Bursary Program was made possible by six generous donors: Claude Chagnon, Fednav, F. Furst Enterprises Ltd., the Roland-Beaulieu Foundation, the Peacock Family Foundation, and Groupe Park Avenue. Their donations were in addition to a portion of the proceeds from the 2023 Bonneville 808 Challenge, which were set aside for this program.
The Golf Québec/Aléo Foundation Bursary Program was created jointly by the two organizations to provide financial assistance and improved support to young golfers, while making them aware of the importance of pursuing their academic studies alongside their golf careers.
In their own words:
“Golf is a sport with its own unique set of realities, and it’s important for us to support student-athletes in this discipline in the best way we can. Our partnership with Golf Québec enables us to contribute to the development of the athletes of today and of tomorrow, and to give young golfers the opportunity to train in a more holistic manner, using the same tools as athletes in other sports, all while benefitting from quality academic guidance.”
– Patricia Demers, Executive Director, Aléo Foundation
“For the past ten years, Golf Québec has been proud to be associated with the Aléo Foundation. We can point to numerous examples of success stories. They all have the potential to achieve high levels of performance, including at the international level. I would also like to highlight the work of our coaches, who play a key role in the development of the young athletes. The partnership between our two organizations aligns perfectly with Golf Québec’s aim of igniting passions and nurturing dreams. Of course, the success of this program would not be possible without the financial support of our generous donors. I would like to thank them for their loyalty.”
