The program
The Excellence Athlete Program is intended for student-athletes identified as Prospect, Development, Elite, and Excellence by their sports federation who are studying at a Quebec educational institution recognized by the Ministry of Education.
Student-athletes must have been prioritized by their Quebec sports federation and must complete the online form on the Sports Québec website before the deadline. Usually, the date is around mid-September, using the username and password that their federation will have sent them.
Eligibility criteria
- Being a full-time or part-time student at an educational institution recognized by the Ministry of Education, starting from secondary school.;
- To be identified and prioritized by their sports federation as a Promising, Developing, Elite, or Excellence athlete in a sport supported by the Ministry of Education and to be engaged in a high-level training and competition program;
- Be from Quebec or a resident of Quebec for at least 2 years, or train in Quebec in a high-level sports host structure.

How to apply?
For this program, all requests submitted to the Foundation must originate from provincial sports federations. The foundation does not accept applications directly.
The mandatory items to provide are as follows:
- Student status information and the most recent transcript;
- The Social Insurance Number;
- Permanent and/or current address;
- The best performances of the last 24 months;
- The justification for the request for financial assistance and the budget of income and expenses;
- Outstanding academic performance and honors received, if any (academic scholarship);
- A letter specifying the type of community engagement, if any (leadership scholarship).
Applications will then be submitted to the Foundation by each sports federation. The Foundation will select its scholarship recipients throughout the year according to the schedule of its various scholarship programs.
