The program
The Aléo Foundation mobilizes «past» scholarship recipients as well as friends of the Foundation who have been won over to the cause as part of the "Give Forward!" program. These donors commit personally to making a real difference in the journey of a student-athlete, because they deeply believe in our mission and feel that we are best positioned to achieve it!
I'll give it to the next person!
University track
With the university component of the Give to the Next program, former recipients sponsor the current generation in turn by committing to fund their five-year journey. They thus directly hand over the scholarship to the next recipient, which results in appreciated amounts as well as rich encounters where the exchange becomes greater than a check. This scholarship is also accompanied by support services, including academic and career counseling and career transition, for life!
Since its creation in 2023, over twenty «alumni» have awarded their first scholarship!
Sports Excellence Program
Inspired by their academic counterparts, now-retired scholarship recipients of their sport have also expressed a desire to give back to the next generation. The first award from this component took place in January 2024, as part of the Georges Saint-Pierre Foundation awards, presented by Amélie Henry. A former recipient of this foundation's scholarship herself, through the Aléo Foundation, she chose to award a scholarship in turn to a young taekwondo athlete.
A few weeks later, Christelle Doyon, a former snowboard cross athlete and Foundation scholarship recipient, also contributed to the "Give Back" program by merging it with the "New Generation Access" program. She was thus paired with a talented young student-athlete to support him in his journey to the highest levels.
Family plan
In addition, a family component has been added to the program. Thus, donors have formed families to support a scholarship recipient. The majority of families are made up of former scholarship recipients, but not all of them. Families passionate about sports and athletes have joined the movement. The first awards also took place at the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic year.
Marathon shutter
The Beneva Montréal Marathon is also joining the tools available to power the Give Next program. Thus, sports federations and the greater sports community are invited to run to raise funds for additional recipients beyond the regular payouts! Donors participating in one of the Beneva Montréal Marathon events can thus fund their philanthropic act by running for the cause and soliciting their network through the official event fundraiser!
