Montreal, December 3, 2024 – For its 39the annual scholarship presentation to student-athletes of member CEGEPs and universities of the of the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ), the Aléo Foundation is pleased to welcome a new guest! The Leadership program, powered by the McCall MacBain Foundation, is joining the scholarships traditionally dedicated to college and university student-athletes.
During the evening, hosted by RDS, at the Maison du loisir et du sport premises, the host of the evening François-Étienne Corbin had the opportunity to highlight 76 new recipients of scholarships this season.
The Aléo Foundation thus presented the student-athletes who will benefit, starting from the 2024-2025 school year, from 21 RDS college recruitment scholarships 3,000 $ over 3 years and 30 university recruitment scholarships 10,000 $ over 5 years, 8 of which come from the Pay it Forward Program and 22 offered by the Government of Quebec.
Furthermore, ten scholarships from the Leadership program have been granted as well as ten academic excellence scholarships presented by Molson Coors and Gildan, highlighting a remarkable balance between sports and academics.
Finally, five special Aléo Foundation grants, intended for student-athletes who began their post-secondary journey at an institution outside the province and who have returned to Quebec, were also distributed.
The 135 other scholarship recipients are students from 2e year and more of their college or university journey.

Created in 1985, the Aléo Foundation has awarded more than $25 million in bursaries to nearly 5,000 elite student-athletes from across Quebec. To clarify the organization's mission—which aims to propel athletes beyond sport—the former Fondation de l'athlète d'excellence du Québec changed its name and brand image in 2022 to become the Aléo Foundation. College and University Scholarship Night Presented by RDS: $410,000 Awarded to 211 Student-Athletes
Montreal, December 3, 2024 – In its 39th annual presentation of scholarships to CEGEP and university student-athletes, who are members of the of the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ), the Aléo Foundation is pleased to welcome a new guest! The Leadership Program, in collaboration with the McCall MacBain Foundation, joins the long list of awards traditionally dedicated to college and university student-athletes.
During the evening, presented by RDS at the Maison du loisir et du sport, host François-Étienne Corbin tuvo la oportunidad de destacar 76 new scholarship recipients for the current season.
The Aléo Foundation introduced the student-athletes who, beginning in the 2024–2025 school year, will benefit from 21 RDS College Recruiting Scholarships worth $3,000 over 3 years, and 30 university recruiting scholarships worth $10,000 over 5 years, including 8 from the "Pay It Forward" Program and 22 offered by the Quebec government.
In addition, ten Leadership scholarships were awarded through the McCall MacBain program, as well as ten Academic Excellence scholarships presented by Molson Coors and Gildan respectively, in recognition of an outstanding reconciliation of sport and academics.
Finally, five special Aléo Foundation bursaries were also awarded to student-athletes who had begun their post-secondary studies at an institution outside the province and have since returned to Quebec.
