Le BUT Foundation and Aléo Foundation join forces to remove barriers to sports access

Montreal, June 6, 2024 – The Le BUT Foundation and the Aléo Foundation share common objectives, including promoting access to sport. As a result, the two foundations are joining forces today to create a new scholarship program aimed at supporting high-potential young hockey and para-hockey players from the Greater Montreal, Laval, North Shore, and surrounding regions who may not necessarily have the financial means to succeed.

Specifically, 14 up-and-coming student-athletes will receive a total of 25,000$ annually in scholarships and services provided by the Foundation Aléo, and this for the next three years. The targeted athletes will be between 13 and 17 years old and must be identified Hope by Hockey Québec. The first scholarship presentation will take place in the fall of 2024.

Former scholar of the Foundation Hello, at a founder and president of the Foundation The But, Pierre Gendron desired this natural alliance in order to have the opportunity to give back to those who follow. Supported in the 1990s by Aléo, he will now provide today's youth with support that will enable them to go further toward their dreams.

Without this help, including that of the Foundation from the Quebec Athlete of Excellence Foundation (now Aléo), I wouldn't have been able to play hockey up to the National Hockey League. The Foundation The BUT collects and redistributes hockey equipment in addition to paying registration fees when necessary. Now, with the Foundation Hello, I want to go even further and help young elite hockey players pursue their at a sport they love. About the Foundation The BUTLaunched at a September 21, 2022, La Foundation at a But distributed over 1,000 pairs of skates. Whether in the Greater Montreal area or even in certain more remote regions, the Foundation makes a difference in the lives of many hockey players. With the objective of making at a hockey accessible to youth of all ages to get them moving and socializing, the foundation collect the used hockey equipment, and at a reassign to players in at a need.
