The Aléo Foundation creates a program to promote leadership among university student-athletes
Montreal, March 6, 2024 – The Aléo Foundation is proud to announce a brand-new holistic leadership program for student-athletes, supported by the McCall MacBain Foundation. This new program aims to encourage RSEQ student-athletes at the university level to balance their studies and their sport while developing their leadership skills.
The Aléo Foundation will welcome its first group of ten recipients in the fall of 2024. The selected student-athletes will participate in individualized coaching sessions as well as group workshops with leadership experts. Recipients will also receive a 4,000 $ scholarship to help cover the costs associated with competing at a high level in sports and pursuing university studies. Scholarships will be available to students from Quebec and elsewhere in Canada who are pursuing their studies at a Quebec institution.
Student-athletes wishing to apply to the program must do so by visiting fondationaleo.ca and clicking on the tab Program leadership, by April 12. We are looking for applications from student-athletes who demonstrate leadership skills, are committed and passionate about personal development, and are eligible for both the academic and athletic components of the RSEQ in fall 2024.

This new program aims to encourage student-athletes competing in the RSEQ at the university level, to combine their studies and their sport as well as develop their leadership skills.
The Aléo Foundation will welcome its first group of ten recipients in the fall of 2024. Student-athletes selected for the program will participate in individualized coaching sessions as well as group seminars led by experts in leadership training. Recipients will also receive a $4000 stipend to help offset the costs of pursuing high-level sports and academics. Scholarships will be available to students from Quebec and elsewhere in Canada who are pursuing their studies at a Quebec institution.
Student-athletes who wish to apply for the program can do so by accessing the Aléo Foundation’s website at fondationaleo.ca, and clicking on the Leadership Program The ideal candidate is a student-athlete who has demonstrated an ability to lead, who is committed and passionate about personal development and who is academically and athletically eligible to compete in the RSEQ in the fall of 2024.
