Feb 24, 2025 | Scholarship award

Montreal, February 24, 2025 – The partnership between Golf Québec and the Aléo Foundation, established in 2014, continues this year through scholarships and lifetime support services for the recipients. At the award ceremony, 27 student-athletes in golf received 72,000 $ in scholarships and services to help them pursue their athletic and academic goals.

This 11th edition of the Golf Québec x Fondation Aléo Scholarship Program presentation is made possible thanks to generous donors including Claude Chagnon, Roland-Beaulieu Foundation and Groupe Park Avenue. Their donations are added to a portion of our event's profits At the table for athletes 2024 as well as to the donations of Patrick Rhéaume Fund.

Patrick Rhéaume Scholarships

Patrick Rhéaume, a friend of Golf Quebec, former coach, and ex-regional director for Golf Canada in Quebec, was living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and passed away in February 2024. Involved in many ways in the world of golf in Quebec and Canada for 31 years, he was keen to leave a legacy for the sport he was passionate about. His inner circle and he therefore established the Patrick Rhéaume Fund, which aims to support athletes whose commitment to their sport reaches a remarkable level.

«I want the Patrick Rhéaume Fund to remain year after year to support Quebec athletes. It is important to help young people who work hard and are committed to their sport, Patrick Rhéaume had explained during a tournament in his honor in September 2023.

À vos marques! Golf Québec x Fondation Aléo

The Golf Québec x Aléo Foundation Scholarship Program was created jointly by the two organizations to financially assist and better support young golfers, while raising their awareness of the critical importance of their studies in conjunction with their sporting careers.

In their own words:

«Golf Québec is very proud of its association with the Aléo Foundation for more than 10 years now. Since 2014, more than 300 recipients have benefited not only from the program's bursaries, but also from the services deployed by the Aléo Foundation. This is a program that places the athlete at the heart of its concerns to offer them the tools to develop in all spheres of their life, on their journey toward excellence. I would obviously like to thank our generous donors who make this program possible.»

– Jean-Pierre Beaulieu, Executive Director of Golf Québec

«Our collaboration with Golf Québec aims to help athletes in their athletic development and offer them the opportunity to train comprehensively, using the same tools and benefiting from the same professional services as athletes in other high-performance sports. At the Fondation Aléo, the academic component is essential, and we also offer support services in sports-study balance as well as in career orientation, all for life for all scholarship recipients.»

– Patricia Demers, Executive Director of the Aléo Foundation
