Lancement de la 3e édition du Défi 808 Bonneville et 158 000 $ en bourses à 49 étudiants-athlètes

April 25, 2019 | Scholarship award

Beloeil, April 25, 2019 – Dany Bonneville, founder and president of the Défi 808 Bonneville, officially launched the 3rd edition of the Défi 808 Bonneville today. The event will take place on September 13th and 14th in Mont-Tremblant. Presented by Fenplast and Lowe's Canada in collaboration with Samson Groupe Conseil, the Défi 808 Bonneville will, for the 3rd consecutive year, benefit the Fondation de l’athlète d’excellence du Québec (FAEQ). Furthermore, the FAEQ took the opportunity to award $158,000 $ in individual scholarships to 49 highly promising student-athletes, funded by the profits from the 2nd edition.
What they said:
«I am very happy, proud, and moved to see that in just two years, we are able to award nearly 160,000$ in scholarships. I had wanted to organize an ultra-cycling challenge in Mont-Tremblant for a long time, but it took the right people around the table to make this project a reality. I quickly fell in love with the Foundation de l’athlète d’excellence during a scholarship award ceremony to which I had been invited. I was very impressed to see these young people, with sparkling eyes full of hope, who will become our leaders of tomorrow. Thank you to everyone who believed in this crazy project; it will be a pleasure to see you at the starting line on September 13 and 14!»
– M. Dany Bonneville, president and founder of Défi 808 Bonneville and ultra-cyclist
«We are very happy to team up with Dany Bonneville again for this 3rd edition of the Défi 808 Bonneville. The first two editions allowed us to offer cyclists a unique, rewarding, challenging, and inspiring experience. Several companies and participants then committed themselves with rigor and conviction to fundraising, which allows us today to financially support no less than 49 very promising student-athletes.»
– Mr. Claude Chagnon, President of the Foundation for Athletic Excellence
