Montreal, April 2, 2025 – The Aléo Foundation and the Québec City business community have once again joined forces to raise a net profit of 120,000 $ during two hours of festivities! This amount will be fully allocated to scholarships and services for student-athletes in the Québec and Chaudière-Appalaches regions in the fall of 2025. In addition to hundreds of business leaders, 30 sports personalities joined the «À table pour les athlètes» dinner on March 27 at the Québec City Cruise Terminal.
Under the honorary chairmanship of Jacques Francisque, President of Rogers Mobile Planet and Fido Mobifone, alongside the committed and inspiring spokesperson, Alex Harvey, the second edition of the «À table pour les athlètes» event was once again a great success combining pleasure, good food, and philanthropy.
Among the sports personalities who made a point of being present, the Minister responsible for Sport, Recreation and Outdoor Activities Isabelle Charest, an Aléo Foundation bursary recipient in 1994 and 1995, recalled the long-term impact, for student-athletes as much as for society, of investing in and believing in these young people.
Several active and retired athletes also emphasized the importance of participating in the event to give back to the Aléo Foundation, which played a significant role in their journeys. From beneficiaries to contributors, they participate in the circular philanthropy that characterizes the Aléo Foundation.
In addition to its spokesperson Alex Harvey, the Aléo Foundation was also able to count on several Olympic and Paralympic athletes, including Charles Philibert-Thiboutot, Jean-Simon Desgagnés, Laurent Dubreuil, Marianne St-Gelais, Cindy Ouellet and Valérie Maltais as well as families of recipients such as Philippe and Vincent Marquis or Marie-Hélène Pedneault and her daughter Amelia Sow.
Deeply grateful for this major success, the Aléo Foundation confirmed the return of the «À table pour les athlètes» event in 2026 for its third edition.
In their own words:
«As a former student-athlete in football myself, I understand precisely what these young people are going through. And upon discovering the Aléo Foundation, I knew I could help them in the most optimal way. Their support for student-athletes, both financially and through personalized services, makes a real and tangible difference. For me, personally, and for Planète Mobile, when we form a partnership, it is obviously essential to share the same values. At the Aléo Foundation, we saw ourselves reflected in the values of perseverance, excellence, diversity, and integrity.»

«The business community of Québec and Chaudière-Appalaches has once again demonstrated its attachment to student-athletes and the importance it places on supporting these exceptional young people who become first-class citizens. For the Aléo Foundation, this partnership with committed people is a success for the benefit of youth and their future.»
