Montreal, March 19, 2024 – Number 32e The latest edition of the Aléo Foundation’s National Bank Scholarship Program recognized the achievements of 22 student-athletes by awarding them a total of 100,000 $ in scholarships and services.
The recipients, from 18 different sports, were welcomed at the Maison du Loisir et du Sport, the headquarters of the vast majority of Quebec sports federations, for the official presentation of the bursaries. Each of these bursaries also offers much more than its financial amount, as it comes with lifetime access to all the services of the Aléo Foundation.
In the presence of Patrick Charlebois, who is a senior wealth management advisor and portfolio manager at National Bank and an ultra-marathoner, the youth of the 2024 cohort saw their athletic achievements and academic successes highlighted. This honor will help propel them toward a bright future on the sports scene and then, beyond sports. Several of the 421 student-athletes supported by National Bank over the years have distinguished themselves particularly on the international stage, notably Mikaël Kingsbury, triple Olympic medalist and multiple world champion, as well as several Olympic medalists including Jennifer Abel, Catherine Beauchemin-Pinard and Marianne St-Gelais, as well as the great tennis player Félix Auger-Aliassime, the cyclist, among others, winner of a Tour de France stage, Hugo Houle, and many more.

The Aléo Foundation and National Bank Invest in the Aspirations of 22 Young People
Montreal, March 19, 2024 – For its 32nd edition, the National Bank Scholarship Program, in partnership with the Aléo Foundation, supported 22 student-athletes by awarding a total of $100,000 in scholarships and services.
The Maison du Loisir et du Sport, which houses the offices of many Quebec sports federations, welcomed these honorees representing 18 different sports for the official bursary ceremony. Each bursary is worth much more than its monetary amount, since it includes lifetime access to all the services offered by the Fondation Aléo.
In the presence of Patrick Charlebois, Senior Wealth Advisor and Portfolio Manager at National Bank, who is also an accomplished marathon runner, commended the 2024 scholarship recipients for their athletic and academic achievements. This honor will help propel them toward a brilliant future in the world of athletics and beyond.
Many of the 421 student-athletes who have received support from National Bank over the years have achieved impressive international success, including Mikaël Kingsbury, a three-time Olympic medalist who has won the Freestyle Skiing World Cup multiple times, as well as several other Olympic medalists such as Jennifer Abel, Catherine Beauchemin-Pinard, Marianne St-Gelais, tennis star Félix Auger-Aliassime y ciclista Hugo Houle, who won a stage of the Tour de France.
