Montreal, May 25, 2021 – The Quebec Foundation for Athletic Excellence (FAEQ) and six of its generous partners presented a total of 78,000 $ in scholarships to 23 student-athletes from across Quebec at noon today.
The FAEQ is proud of the continuation of the sponsorships of’Aquam, of’Atrium Innovations, of Real Estate Fair, of the Gilles Chatel Foundation, of Parasports Québec and Samson Consulting Group, of the group Lussier Dale Parizeau, despite the particular social and economic contexts. In fact, these six Quebec companies are financially supporting our leaders of tomorrow.
After several very difficult months, during which they had to constantly adapt in their studies and athletic practice, the young student-athletes recognized today are receiving more than financial support. They are also getting encouragement and guidance to stay engaged and motivated for the next steps in their journey.
«The last 14 months have been extremely long and disappointing for student-athletes, who have been doubly affected by the consequences of the pandemic. First in their academic journey, which took place partially or entirely online. Their sport was also deprived of numerous competitions; simply being able to train sometimes became a major victory. The encouragement, guidance, and support of our 6 patrons act as a balm for the many disappointments experienced by the 23 scholarship recipients. This support is consequently more important than ever. It is essential, I would even say crucial, to the development of the student-athletes.»
