Montreal, June 19, 2023 – An important chapter of the Aléo Foundation comes to an end with the departure of its Director of Communications and Partnerships Annie Pelletier, the face of the Fondation de l'athlète d'excellence du Québec (FAEQ) since April 2005. Over her 18 years with the organization, she has rolled up her sleeves at more than 200 events and scholarship presentations.
Master of the art of leading these activities, Annie touched people with her fabulous journey as an athlete. She also showed great attention to detail, always with the goal that our scholarship recipients and partners truly feel welcome within the greater Foundation family.

Since 2005, I have had the privilege of being supported, respected, and esteemed, of learning, making mistakes, starting over, and growing as a professional, but also as a person.»

Proud ambassador
The bond between Annie and Aléo actually dates back even further than 2005—more specifically, to 1995. As a young diver and future bronze medalist in the 3-metre springboard event at the Atlanta Olympics, she had received a 2,500 $ scholarship from partner Videotron.
Pierre Dubé, executive director of the FAEQ when she received her scholarship in 1995 and then when she was hired 10 years later, wishes to emphasize her significant contribution to the organization. «Annie's hiring was certainly one of the Foundation's best decisions. Passionate, perfectionistic, constantly striving to improve, she quickly became a unique and exceptional spokesperson for the scholarship recipients, partners, media, as well as the sporting and Quebec community. Principled and authentic, she had a distinctive way of hosting events, in addition to delivering credible and touching testimonials. She brought even greater renown to the Foundation. She had and still has the FAEQ tattooed on her heart. Thank you Annie!»
For Martin Lavigne, president of Aléo, Annie's departure is a sad moment, but allows the organization to recall the importance of her contribution over the past 18 years. «An important piece is leaving the Foundation. Annie will always be an integral part of our history, having greatly contributed to its development and rise.»
His departure marks the end of an era for Aléo, but Patricia Demers, current executive director of the Foundation, ensures that a very special place will always be reserved for her. «Annie is leaving Aléo professionally to explore new paths, but she will forever remain a great ambassador for the Foundation.»
