Montreal, August 17, 2023 – An experienced communications duo will be joining the Aléo Foundation team starting in September. Annie Dubé will become Director of Communications and Marketing, while François-Olivier Roberge will occupy the brand-new position of communications and philanthropy advisor.
The two communications specialists will reunite after 17 years. Annie Dubé was then a press attaché at the Turin Olympic Games, where François-Olivier Roberge competed as a long-track speed skater. Their rapport and complementary expertise will combine to elevate the Foundation’s new brand image, its partners, and its scholarship recipients, while supporting all philanthropic efforts deployed.
The revamped communications team thus ties in with the new momentum of the Aléo Foundation and will aim to optimize all its actions, always with the same vision and the same mission.

A 360-degree communicator
Annie Dubé took her first professional steps in communications at the Fédération de patinage de vitesse du Québec in 2001. After spending six seasons at the heart of speed skating, she moved into the media sector with Radio-Canada Sports. In early 2011, she founded PHOS communications, a company she managed until taking over as general manager of Sportcom in December 2014.
Annie Dubé's career path led her to take part in the 2006 Turin Olympic Games as a press officer, and the Beijing and Sochi Games as a member of Radio-Canada's production teams.
After 9 years at the head of Sportcom, a decade of major transformations for the agency, during which the team tripled, two distinct divisions were created, the budget quintupled and, more recently, a corporate culture policy was adopted, confirming Sportcom's status as an employer of choice, she has decided to pass the torch to now join the Fondation Aléo team.

Therefore, putting my expertise, creativity, and skills to work for the scholarship recipients and the partners who believe in them is extremely motivating and will be a daily pleasure,» explained Annie Dubé.
François-Olivier received his first Foundation scholarship in 2005, through the National Bank program.
Athlete, scholar, journalist and communicator!
François-Olivier Roberge was a long-track speed skater whose career led him to represent the country on the international stage, up to the 2006 Turin and 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games. Over the course of his journey, he was a Foundation scholarship recipient from 2005 to 2010.
After earning a bachelor's degree in communications, he quickly distinguished himself as a journalist for the newspaper Le Soleil in Quebec City. He notably stood out by writing a weekly column dedicated to Olympic sports. In 2014, he joined the offices of the Speed Skating Quebec team. As communications director, he made his mark by helping the federation stand out with a distinctive online presence, launching highly popular provincial promotional campaigns, and hosting events, all while keeping athletes, youth, and the sport at the heart of his actions.

New name, new image, same mission!
The Foundation for Athletic Excellence (FAEQ) has adopted a new name and visual identity: ALÉO – Propelling the athlete beyond sport. This change aims to further highlight its personalized approach where overall well-being and the well-being in performance its scholarship holders are at the center of its actions.

Established in 1985, the Fondation de l’athlète d’excellence (FAEQ) has awarded over $20 million in scholarships to nearly 4,000 outstanding student-athletes from across Quebec. With the goal of clarifying the organization's mission to propel athletes beyond sports, in 2022 the FAEQ rebranded and changed its name to Fondation Aléo. In addition to continuing its provision of scholarships and support services to tomorrow's leaders, it confirms its personalized approach, focusing on the overall well-being and development of its scholarship recipients in their performance.
