Blainville, November 18, 2025 – The first edition of the Laurentides-Lanaudière regional scholarship program, powered by the entrepreneurs' group The Builders, laid a solid foundation by awarding 47,500 $ in scholarships and services to 24 student-athletes from the region. For this inaugural event, the recipients, their families, donors, and business leaders gathered at Le Blainvillier Golf Club, which generously hosted the event.
In collaboration with Excellence Sportive Laurentides-Lanaudière, this scholarship program aims to detect talent as soon as it emerges. Indeed, the Espoir category of athletes, primarily high school students, has been targeted. By partnering with regional experts in the field, it is thus possible to identify these budding great talents.
This scholarship presentation was made possible thanks to the association The Builders, which organized a charity golf tournament on July 10. In addition to playing golf, the 72 foursomes gathered at Le Blainvillier Golf Club had the opportunity to bid on two fantastic auction items. Highlights included an autographed Mario Lemieux jersey, a painting depicting Georges St-Pierre, and gloves autographed by Jean Pascal, which made many people very happy. In total, proceeds of 47,500 $ from the auctions were donated to the Aléo Foundation, which is now distributing the funds to scholarship recipients.
In their own words:
«We are absolutely thrilled about this first partnership with the Aléo Foundation. The more we discover it, the more we see how much we share the same values. Supporting young student-athletes from the region fits precisely with our desire to make a difference in our immediate community by promoting, among other things, health and education. And these young people are role models, current and future, who will also carry these positive messages. This first helping hand will therefore have a domino effect, and we are proud to be the initiators.»

«When a group of businesspeople chooses the Aléo Foundation to distribute the proceeds from a fundraising event, we are always deeply moved. The trust placed in our foundation is a deeply valued recognition, and the funds donated are invested with great care. 100% of what we receive is transformed into scholarships and services. And this time, it’s entirely for young people in the Laurentides-Lanaudière region. Thus, the dual goal of supporting student-athletes as their talent emerges—while they are still in their home region—and of partnering with local business communities has been wonderfully achieved. »We are extremely grateful for this enthusiastic response and delighted to be able to support even more young athletes.”

About the Aléo Foundation
The Aléo Foundation's mission is to maximize the full potential of as many outstanding student-athletes as possible from all backgrounds, in order to generate significant and lasting impact. Created in 1985, it has awarded over $25 million in scholarships to more than 5,000 student-athletes from across Quebec. In addition to these scholarships, there is an essential component of services provided for life to all recipients during and after their athletic and academic careers. To support these mentoring services, the Aléo Research Chairis now a vector for scientific results available to the entire sports community here.
The fundraising campaign Impact for Generations Its goal is to raise six million dollars in three years to move closer to our great vision: that student-athletes of excellence enrich society through their current and future leadership, both through their exceptional contributions and the inspiring examples they embody.
