From Alouettes to Aléo
Montreal, October 7, 2025 – What better than autumn to welcome a football player to the Aléo team! Former Montreal Alouettes linebacker Frédéric Chagnon has chosen to join the Foundation's ranks as Scholarship Programs Coordinator.
Professional soccer player until December 2024 and holder of a Bachelor of Business Administration in Operations Management and Finance from HEC Montréal, Frédéric Chagnon has combined the perfect blend of experience and academic training to become a top-tier contributor to Aléo Foundation scholarship recipients.
«Being able to meet and support so many student-athletes, across all sports, is something that really excites me. The opportunity to follow their journeys, both athletic and academic, all the way to career transition, is a huge motivation for me,» expressed the new scholarship programs coordinator.
Vanier and Grey Cup winner Frédéric Chagnon understands the challenges of being an elite student-athlete. He also knows the value of hard work required to get there and the choices that young people supported by the Aléo Foundation must make. This unique experience will resonate with all stakeholders in the sports, philanthropic, and financial communities.
«We firmly believe that student-athletes have developed top-tier qualities during their journeys to become exceptional employees. For us, this isn't just a theory, and hiring Frédéric is proof of that,» explained Patricia Demers, executive director of the Aléo Foundation.
From his very first days, the new scholarship programs coordinator has a desire to give back. «I was fortunate to be well-surrounded by people who believed in me during my development. I will be truly happy to have the chance to make a difference, in turn, for other athletes,» concluded Frédéric Chagnon.
