Montreal, April 26, 2022 – The Foundation for Athletic Excellence (FAEQ) is honoring 14 young student-athletes from the Laurent Duvernay-Tardif Foundation (FLDT) Scholarship Program, who will share 21,000 $. These young recipients, aged 12 to 15, will each receive a scholarship of 1,500 $ and have distinguished themselves through their achievements in sports, academics, and the arts.
Co-chair of the LDT Foundation, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and his partner Florence-Agathe Dubé-Moreau were able to chat with each recipient during a virtual scholarship presentation, congratulating them on their efforts and encouraging them to continue their pursuit of excellence.
A recipient of a FAEQ scholarship for his leadership at the college level in 2009 and for his athletic and academic excellence at the university level in 2013, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif is a medical doctor and a 2020 Super Bowl champion. The NFL offensive lineman long combined playing football and badminton with learning the violin.
Author and contemporary art curator holding a Master’s degree in art history from the Université de Montréal, Florence-Agathe Dubé-Moreau studied in sports-study programs in elementary and high school, and then at the École supérieure de ballet du Québec at the college level.
Laurent and Florence-Agathe therefore fully understand the immense richness of combining sports and arts in their personal and professional development.
