Loto-Québec supports 15 inspiring athletes and renews its partnership with the FAEQ until 2020

Montreal, April 27, 2017 Fifteen distinguished athletes, aged 18 to 40, were awarded a total of $41,000 $ in individual scholarships of $2,000 $ or $3,000 $ as part of the Loto-Québec Scholarship Program of the Quebec Foundation for Athletic Excellence (FAEQ).

Highlights

• This program, dedicated exclusively to athletes with physical or sensory limitations, is in its 10th year of existence. It was presented at the Claude-Robillard Sports Complex for the Défi sportif AlterGo, of which Loto Québec is one of the main sponsors.

• Among the 2017 recipients, we note paralympians from the Rio 2016 Games Jean-Michel Lavallière and Nicolas-Guy Turbide in para-swimming, and Charles Moreau in para-cycling, as well as two other recipients who are focusing on possible participation in the upcoming PyeongChang 2018 Winter Paralympic Games, Aurélien Bucquet and Antoine Vachon-Lehoux in sledge hockey.

• Offered in partnership with Défi sportif AlterGo and Special Olympics Quebec, two key players in the adapted sports community, the Loto-Québec Scholarship Program is jointly managed by the FAEQ and various sports federations and associations for athletes with physical or sensory impairments: Parasports Quebec, the Quebec Association of Sports for Cerebral Palsy (AQSPC), the Quebec Sports Association for the Deaf (ASSQ), the Quebec Sports Association for the Blind (ASAQ), and other unified sports federations.
