In their own words:

– Éric Meunier, Director of Societal Engagement at Loto-Québec

– Patricia Demers, Executive Director of the Aléo Foundation

Loto-Québec x Aléo Foundation Scholarship Program: Highlighting the Power of Diversity

Montreal, April 30, 2026 – A partner of the Aléo Foundation for nearly two decades, Loto-Québec has once again demonstrated its commitment by supporting 13 para-athletes, who received $52,000 in grants, along with the lifetime services provided by the Aléo Foundation. Gathered at the Centre Claude-Robillard during the Défi sportif AlterGo, athletes and representatives showcased para-sports in all its glory for this unique scholarship presentation.

Through the scholarships it awards, Loto-Québec annually recognizes the exceptional achievements of athletes with physical or sensory disabilities exclusively. Differences that have been transformed into unique strengths for each of these recipients. This year, athletes in para-athletics, wheelchair tennis, para-Nordic skiing, para-hockey, wheelchair basketball, para-alpine skiing, wheelchair rugby, golf, boccia, and para-badminton were highlighted and encouraged.

Targeted advertising

In the same spirit of highlighting the importance of para-sports in our society, Loto-Québec aired a commercial during the Olympic Games. The commercial beautifully highlighted the significant role that sports play in the lives of people with disabilities. Loto-Québec also highlighted the contributions of two organizations that support para-athletes: AlterGo and the Aléo Foundation. This partnership and recognition were a source of great pride for the Aléo Foundation.

In their own words:

“At Loto-Québec, we are committed to giving back to the community, particularly by supporting athletes with disabilities. We are very proud to continue our partnership with the Aléo Foundation. It allows us to highlight the talent and journeys of exceptional athletes.”

– Éric Meunier, Director of Social Engagement, Loto-Québec

“The Aléo Foundation is truly fortunate to have such a loyal and enthusiastic partner as Loto-Québec. Partnering with this government-owned corporation each year makes a direct contribution to fulfilling our mission. And this year, we’ve been treated to a wonderful bonus: a dedicated spot in their advertising campaign. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Loto-Québec—you’re our winning number!”

– Patricia Demers, Executive Director, Aléo Foundation
