Second edition of the regional scholarship awards in Outaouais: when the business community chooses human investments

April 22, 2026 | Scholarship award

The regional scholarship program in Outaouais aims to detect emerging talent in the region. Therefore, the focus is on athletes in the "Espoir" (Emerging) category, primarily high school students. At the Aléo Foundation, we want to support talented student-athletes from the very beginning of their talent's emergence. This program is therefore a perfect showcase for this objective.

In addition to the scholarships offered directly by the Aléo Foundation, several local partners have joined to award scholarships directly to student-athletes. To bring together all these companies, the Aléo Foundation was able to count on two exceptional ambassadors who are Nicolas Gosselin and Guy Leblanc who have been able to rally their peers. These valuable allies are, first and foremost, the presenting partners Nomad Telecom, Desjardins Hull-Aylmer, Inspirations Voyage, as well as Heafey Group - Les Galeries Aylmer, Mayer Group, Multivesco, Château Cartier Hotel & Resort, Mont Ste-Marie, Lesage & Turgeon Électrique, Xpresso Bar Vêtements, Sports aux puces Outaouais, Fortin Group - Golf and Real Estate, Ni-Co Energie, Charles Masse and François Sylvestre, Fenomax, Restaurant Houston Gatineau, Isabelle Montpetit, Flames de Gatineau, Amor Construction. In addition, Cogeco 104.7 Outaouais was also the major media partner of the evening to benefit the athletes.

In their own words:

«This repeated success in awarding regional scholarships is a great source of pride for the Outaouais community, which has rallied without hesitation, for a second year, with the Aléo Foundation. We are very proud to see the people of this region believe in the exceptional next generation that these young student-athletes represent.»

– Nicolas Gosselin, President of Nomad Telecom

«Entrepreneurs and athletes are very similar. We recognize ourselves in these young people who show great determination, resilience, and perseverance. This is what particularly touches people here and encourages them to support the young people in our community to achieve their dreams and make the region shine throughout their journey.»

– Guy Leblanc, General Manager, Les Galeries Aylmer

«The Aléo Foundation's regional scholarship programs have two main objectives. The first is to support student-athletes in developing their talent while they are still in their home regions. The second is to build strong relationships with local business communities so that partners and scholarship recipients recognize each other and embark on a long journey together. We are extremely grateful for this enthusiastic response in the Outaouais region and are delighted to be able to support even more young athletes.»

– Patricia Demers, Executive Director of the Aléo Foundation

About the Aléo Foundation
The Aléo Foundation's mission is to maximize the full potential of as many outstanding student-athletes as possible from all backgrounds, in order to generate significant and lasting impact. Created in 1985, it has awarded over $25 million in scholarships to more than 5,000 student-athletes from across Quebec. In addition to these scholarships, there is an essential component of services provided for life to all recipients during and after their athletic and academic careers. To support these mentoring services, the Aléo Research Chairis now a vector for scientific results available to the entire sports community here.

The fundraising campaign Generations of Impact Its goal is to raise six million dollars in three years to move closer to our great vision: that student-athletes of excellence enrich society through their current and future leadership, both through their exceptional contributions and the inspiring examples they embody.
