The Foundation for Athletes of Excellence Awards 106,000 $
in scholarships to 40 outstanding student-athletes

Montreal, December 15, 2021 — The Fondation de l'athlète d'excellence (FAEQ) is pleased to have successfully concluded the difficult year 2021 by awarding no less than 106,000 $ in individual scholarships à 40 elite student-athletes during a virtual scholarship award ceremony held this noon on the Zoom platform.

Martin Lavigne, President of the Foundation, was happy to play Santa Claus in a way for the 40 scholarship recipients and, above all, to end the year on a high note in their company. «The FAEQ is very proud to be able to continue its mission despite the pandemic thanks to its loyal and generous partners. Providing financial support and guidance to Quebec's top student-athletes in their quest for academic and athletic success has been our raison d'être for over 35 years.»

«Moreover, our support services have been very popular over the past year, and that is all for the better. The Foundation is indeed moving increasingly toward the overall personal development of its scholarship holders, no longer limiting itself solely to their academic and athletic achievements. We want them to be able to achieve a certain balance and become fully fulfilled human beings,» Mr. Lavigne concluded.

On Wednesday at noon, 26 recipients were awarded an academic excellence scholarship given to student-athletes who achieved a grade point average of 80 % or higher in their most recent coursework, while 14 recipients received a scholarship to support academic and athletic success, designed to help them balance their sports and studies effectively.
