Montreal, June 25, 2020 – The Quebec Foundation for Athletic Excellence (FAEQ) has announced the names of the 14 talented athletes who will share a total of 40,000 $ in individual grants of 2,000 $ or 3,000 $ as part of the 13th edition of the Loto-Québec Scholarship Program,Loto-Québec Scholarship Program, dedicated exclusively to athletes with physical or sensory disabilities.
Given the very particular situation of social distancing that has led to the closure of several training centers, our Paralympic sport athletes need financial support, encouragement, and guidance more than ever to stay engaged and motivated for the upcoming season, which will culminate for some in the Paralympic Games from August 24 to September 5, 2021.
Since its inception in 2005, the Loto-Québec Scholarship Program has been a resounding success. Many of its recipients have distinguished themselves on the national, international, and Paralympic sports scenes, such as Philippe Bédard in wheelchair tennis, Mark Beggs, Marie-Claude Molnar, and Charles Moreau in paracycling, Dominic Larocque in para-ice hockey, Valérie Grand’Maison in paraswimming, Cindy Ouellet, Maude Jacques, and Rosalie Lalonde in wheelchair basketball, Marco Dispaltro in boccia, and many others.

The Loto-Québec Scholarship Program within the FAEQ is managed by the FAEQ, in collaboration with various organizations for athletes with physical or sensory limitations: Parasports Québec, the Association québécoise de sports pour paralytiques cérébraux (AQSPC), the Association sportive des aveugles du Québec (ASAQ), Hockey Québec, the Fédération québécoise des sports cyclistes (FQSC), the Fédération de natation du Québec (FNQ), and the Fédération de tennis de table du Québec (FTTQ).
