The Équipe Québec Foundation will offer scholarships to student-athletes considering a return to Quebec.

Montreal, August 19, 2020 – In the current context of the pandemic and its many consequences on college and university sports, the Fondation de l’athlète d’excellence du Québec (FAEQ) has decided to specially establish a scholarship program FAEQ Autumn 2020 which will aim to financially support and offer support services to student-athletes who are planning a return to Quebec for the upcoming college and university semester.

The scholarship program FAEQ Autumn 2020, which provides 10 university scholarships of 2,000 $ and 5 college scholarships of 1,000 $, is open to student-athleteswho are reconsidering their decision after committing to an institution outside Quebec, or to student-athletes who are transferring to a Quebec institution after having used their eligibility elsewhere.

These scholarships will be awarded in a single payment and will not be renewable. Eligible student-athletes must participate in a sport recognized by the RSEQ, and at the collegiate level, must be part of a team in a division 1 sport (football, hockey, soccer, volleyball, or basketball).

Student-athletes who wish to apply for a scholarship can register for the scholarship program. Challenge 808 Bonneville

The Défi 808 Bonneville, presented by Fenplast and Lowe’s Canada in partnership with Samson Groupe Conseil/Lussier Dale Parizeau, is a cycling event benefiting the Fondation de l’athlète d’excellence that will take place on September 18 and 19 in Mont-Tremblant. Participants must choose their challenge between 100 km and 808 km. New this year: E-bikes will be accepted during the 115 km Boucle Québecor on Saturday, September 19, and Pierre Lavoie becomes an ambassador for the 4e edition confirming his presence on the starting grid.
