The Foundation for Athletic Excellence offers financial support to student-athletes returning to Quebec

Août 19, 2020 | Nouvelles de la FAEQ

Montreal, August 19th, 2020 – In the current context of a global pandemic and the subsequent consequences on collegiate and university sports, the Quebec Foundation for Athletic Excellence (QFAE) is pleased to announce the creation of a bursary program, destined to help student-athletes who intend to return to Quebec for the fall semester.

Ten bursaries of $2,000 at the university level and 5 bursaries of $1,000 at the collegiate level will be made available to the best student-athlete who have either committed elsewhere, but have re-evaluated their decision; or are transferring back after having used eligibility outside of the province.

These bursaries will be distributed in one installment and will not be renewable. Student-athletes must be participating in a sport sanctioned by the RSEQ, and at the collegiate level, must be in division 1 sport (football, hockey, soccer, volleyball or basketball).

Student-athletes wishing to apply for this unique program should fill out the document available here: https://fondationaleo.ca/programme-du-sport-universitaire. Given the imminent beginning of the fall semester the deadline to submit an application is AUGUST 24TH, 2020 at NOON. The selected recipients will be notified of their selection before August 31st.

« The QFAE makes a point of being attentive and adaptable by offering solutions to the diverse challenges our student-athletes are currently facing. The QFAE hopes to be able to support and guide them in their new reality by offering them the tools to get through this atypical period in a positive way. »
